Work Arrangements for the Period December 1 to December 4, 2020

In light of the recent substantial daily increases in new local cases of COVID-19, the University is making further arrangements to temporarily reduce the number of staff who are physically on campus, with a view to minimizing the risk of infection in HKU.   Given the current uptick in COVID-19 cases in Hong Kong and the fluctuating virus situations, updates on work arrangements will be announced by Friday each week until the situation stabilizes.   

For the current week, starting from tomorrow (i.e. December 1, 2020), Departments/units are asked to implement appropriate rostering arrangements for their staff, aiming at reducing staff by up to 50% in each shift while ensuring that their normal services, including operating hours, could be maintained in general.  Implementation guidelines for appropriate “work from home”/roster arrangements are set out in the Task Force’s List C circular dated July 14, 2020.

All colleagues on campus are reminded to maintain good personal and environmental hygiene, and an appropriate social distance with others particularly during “mask-off” activities such as eating or drinking. Those with symptoms such as fever or cough should not come to the campus, and anyone developing symptoms on campus should seek medical assistance immediately.
