Work arrangements beginning April 4

Message from Task Force on Infectious Diseases

To:       All professional services and support staff

Dear colleagues,

In response to the latest COVID-19 situation, the University will resume normal operation in a gradual manner.

Starting from April 4, 2022 (Monday), Departments/units are asked to implement an A/B teams weekly rostering arrangement by dividing their professional services and support staff into two teams to work in the office in alternate weeks, with a view to returning to normal work arrangement and resuming normal services after the Easter Holidays, i.e. from April 19, 2022 (Tuesday).    The clinical Faculties of Dentistry and Medicine will make separate announcements regarding their work arrangements.

Departments/units should exercise flexibility in work arrangements such as by adopting flexi-hours and staggered lunch breaks and arranging virtual meetings as far as practicable.   Colleagues on campus are reminded to maintain strict personal and environmental hygiene to prevent the spread of the virus.  They should wear a mask at all times, perform hand hygiene frequently, and maintain an appropriate physical distance with others particularly during mask-off activities such as eating or drinking, whether indoors or outdoors.   Colleagues should take a rapid antigen test, which should return a negative result, within 24 hours prior to returning to the campus.

The University will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and make any necessary adjustments. Please check with the COVID-19 Info Hub for any updates and continue to stay vigilant and make personal and group health your top priority.
