Positive sewage test results in Kennedy Town

Message from Task Force on Infectious Diseases

Dear colleagues and students,

The Centre for Health Protection announced this afternoon that positive sewage test results with relatively high viral loads have been detected in Sai Wan Estate in Kennedy Town.

All residents of HKU’s Jockey Club Student Village III are asked to undergo daily rapid antigen tests up to and including Sunday.  If you have a pressing need to visit the area in the next few days, please take extra precaution and perform strict personal hygiene, maintain an appropriate physical distance with others, and avoid engaging in mask-off activities such as eating or drinking.

As a reminder, colleagues should take a rapid antigen test, which should return a negative result, within 24 hours prior to returning to the campus.

The University will continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation.   Please do continue to stay vigilant, and always make personal and group health your top priority.
