Tightening of Infection Control Measures on Campus Starting from July 13

In response to the current COVID-19 situation, and the Government’s latest social distancing measures to address the higher risks brought about by activities conducted without wearing masks as shown in recent infection cases, the University is tightening the infection control measures on campus as follows, with effect from July 13, 2020 until further notice:

Summer courses
In addition to the infection control measures announced in the Task Force’s bulk email dated June 22, 2020, for all summer courses irrespective of class size, teachers are asked to maintain appropriate physical distancing in classrooms through arrangements such as an alternate seating or a spacing of 1.5 metres between each student.   If and where necessary, teachers are advised to contact the Examinations Office to arrange a larger classroom as appropriate.

HKU events
Further to the guidelines for HKU events circulated to List C recipients on July 6, 2020, for all events to be held on campus, no eating or drinking is allowed inside or outside of the event venue.

The University will continue to monitor the virus situation closely and make the necessary adjustments.  Please check with the COVID-19 INFO HUB on the University Main Page for services update.

Please continue to stay vigilant and make personal and group health your top priority.
