Various events on campus can be a challenge to good social distancing. Guidelines on Events (with and without external participants) have been developed with regular revisions if necessary by the Task Force on Infectious Diseases (TFID) and disseminated to the university community in line with government announcements on group gathering (CAP. 599G). The number of participants, seating arrangements and restrictions on catering services in events are key elements to the Guidelines.
Another initiative is to help people maintain adequate social distancing at queuing hotspots e.g. MTR exit A and outside busy catering outlets. Signage will be put up at selected spots and Security Personnel will remind people of social distancing.
This guideline provides event organisers of halls and student societies of the University with recommendations and points to consider when organising High Table Dinner or events with food and beverages arrangement in premises BOTH within the University campuses and outside campus under the current COVID-19 pandemic. The guidelines reflect prevailing government infection control regulations.
Halls and student societies should submit an application to the Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS) prior to the event.
