Social Distancing Measures in Classrooms

Social Distancing Measures in Classrooms
  • Guidelines on options for fully online, mixed mode and face-to-face teaching have been disseminated to all teaching staff for planning and classroom booking, which will be revised as and when necessary in response to the prevailing risk level. For more information, please see FAQs related to COVID-19 (for Semester 1,2020) at HKU’s Teaching & Learning website.
  • Seating capacities in classrooms have been reduced in order to allow sufficient social distancing. All classrooms allocated by the Exams Office for face-to-face teaching in Semester 1 2020 are at least twice the projected class size.
  • Automatic hand sanitizer dispensers have been installed in all classrooms to facilitate the practice of good hand hygiene.
  • Guidelines on general infection control on campus with particular reference to those in classrooms have been drawn up and disseminated to the university community. Under the guidelines, wearing of masks is required, while eating or drinking is not allowed.
